This is an
excellent University of Michigan Baseball team belt buckle. It is
quite heavy and measures 2" wide and 1 3/4" high. It is signed on the
back "The D. Lauldco" Columbus, O. there is a baseball bat across the Michigan M. THIS IS A VERY RARE COLLEGIATE BASEBALL ITEM. Baseball is the oldest sport at Michigan. The first game was in 1860. This team was coached by the famous Ray Fisher. Fisher coached Michigan from 1921 until 1958 and compiled a record of 636-295 and 8 ties. His winning percentage was .682 making him the the most successful baseball coach at Michigan by far. Fisher won 15 conference titles and 1 NCAA title. This 1937 team went 16-8 with a winning percentage of .667. Johnny Gee a LHP played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and the New York Giants. Lyle K.
